Our trip in Australia

13 mars 2018

We have slept one night in the Whitsunday Island

The Whitsundays island are located in the heart of the Great Barrier Reef on the Queensland coast. It is an archipelago of 74 isles

We have visited the Whitehaven Beach. The sand is the softest one we have ever touched and the whitest we have ever seen. For two hours, we relaxed on the beach, under the sun. After, we have flew by plane over the island, it's the most beautiful landscape we have ever seen. The Whitsunday island are discovered by James Cook. Around the Whitsundays islands, there is deep waters with a beautiful fauna submarine.

From July to September, you can see whales migration. In Whitsundays, the tropical climate lasts all year and offers water and air in 77° F .

We have seen Tasmanian Devils

We were in an animal park on the island of Tasmania. A woman arrived with a devil of Tasmania in her arms and she talked to us about the devil of Tasmania. It is a marsupial only living only on the Tasmania. It was seen for a long time as a threat for the cattle and he was hunted for several years until it became an endangered species in 1941. Since the 1990s, a large number of this species are victims of a cancerous tumor, which is contagious by biting. This tumor greatly reduces the population. It stinks when he is anxious and he has a strong roaring.

To us, it is cute because of its black fur.

We have navigated on The Great Barrier Reef

We have been on the boat and person told us the story of The Great Barrier Reef :

The Great Barrier Reef is threatened by Global warming and the development of fossil fuels. The water temperature increases and makes huge bleaching on the reef corals bleached by 93% and killed for 22%. The north part is the most attacked. This is the longest ecosystem of the world, it does 2.300 kms long.

The divers used to go snorkeling among turtles and color fishes.

We have been snorkeling too and we have seen the corals and a lot of marine animals...We have found this place very beautiful but all people have to pay attention because it is in real danger

This place is in the UNESCO world heritage since 1981.
